Freestyle Academy proudly presents
I worked with Thea Nair to create this song. We had a lot of fun working with each other and got together outside of class to listen to music and try to find something we liked. I'm so glad I had a partner to work on this with. I tend to be a bit shy and don't really like singing so having a friend to do this with me was a huge help and made it a fun experience.
For this project, we used Pro Tools to take the original song and remove the vocals as much as possible. We had some trouble doing this, but in the end with our voices over it, I don't think it was that noticeable. We chose the song “Despair“ by Leo. For our version, we made it about somebody who hit a lamp post with their car to avoid a boar that for some reason was in the street. It is a very upbeat song about a not so great experience and because of this I think ours matches with the tone of the original song in that way.
